What We Do
We tell stories and we teach. (That pretty much sums it up.)
Here are a few ways we do it:
Films – We started our company creating dramatic films and continue to do so, both for ourselves and for others. It’s rather straightforward: we begin with an idea and end with a DVD (or Blu-Ray nowadays). Go ahead and watch a few. Or peek at the trailers if you’re in a hurry.
Documentaries – We love capturing reality. A good documentary speaks with a hard-knock honesty that’s extremely compelling. We research, write, and shoot all our documentaries. Take a minute to see one.
Curriculum – It’s like putting together a three-dimensional jigsaw puzzle. (And we love it.) We’ve produced two major projects and continue to create others, whether by ourselves or with partners. Look at Modern Parables or Seek Social Justice. Or learn how we create our curriculum projects.
Education – Video can be a great vehicle for education if used in the right way. We believe educational videos should be personal and fun. Visual Latin is a great example of this. Take a minute to learn about boy words and girl words.
Marketing – We think the best way to sell something is to figure out its story. Whether it’s people, products, or a process, marketing is about making customers take an interest in you. Stories are a great way to do it. Here are a few examples.
Training – Most people yawn when they think about training videos. But if you teach and tell a story at the same time, it’s MUCH more interesting. See what we do with this marriage training video. This principle applies to any kind of training, and there are creative ways to explain everything.
Scriptwriting – A river can’t rise higher than its source, so a good script is pretty important. We take our scriptwriting seriously – even the comedy (shouldn’t everybody?) Feel free to ask us for copies of any of our scripts.
Consulting – We’ve learned a lot from the school of scraped knees, so we’re happy to tell you how to avoid falling down. We give free advice on this site even. Here are a few topics you can peruse: curriculum, filmmaking, and production.
If you’d like to know more about how we can help you out with any of these things, just drop us a note. We’d love to hear from you.
